It was early, at the start of day,
When I began to feel this way.
Stomach churning, body chilled,
Needing something, with which to be filled.
Cold outside, cold within,
Be still! my shaking chin.
The rain falls with a light patter,
But then, does it really matter?
This emptiness, inside, I feel,
Is really, truly, the raw deal.
That I must listen to the drops,
As my stomach flips and flops,
Don’t come near me, not today,
I just want you all to stay away.
